For workshops within and around Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, all travel expenses are included in the cost per student. Remote areas may incur a small additional fee to cover petrol and travel costs.

Our workshops run for 60mins for a single class (up to around 35 students).  However, our workshops are designed to be flexible and the duration and class size can be adjusted to suit your personal requirements.


Primary School Workshops:
Cost: $8.80 per student* (minimum booking of 20 students)
All Primary School Workshops Include:
activity bag for each student, including a stick insect egg, insect collecting equipment, seeds to grow their own butterfly plants, colour-in, sticker and more!
activity book for each student
an A1 colour poster for the classroom
seeds to grow your own butterfly attracting plants for your school grounds
teacher’s resource pack
the opportunity for students to handle some live specimens of unique Australian insects
N.B. For Build-a-Bug Workshop, contents of the activity bag will differ.
The Insect Pinning & Mounting Workshop incurs a higher cost (see below).


Prep Workshops:
Prep workshops can be conducted in 2 ways. For $8.80 per student, they can receive all of the inclusions of a primary school workshop (see above).  Or for $7.70 per student, they can forego an activity bag and simply receive a colouring-in booklet (see details below).

Cost: $7.70 per student* (minimum booking of 20 students)
Prep Workshops Include:
a colouring-in booklet for each student
an A1 colour poster for the classroom
seeds to grow your own butterfly attracting plants for your school grounds
teacher’s resource pack
the opportunity for students to handle some live specimens of unique   Australian insects

Insect Pinning & Mounting Workshop (Primary or Seconday Students)
Cost: $13.20 per student (minimum booking of 10 students)
Each student receives:
  Setting board        
  Setting papers
  Entomological pins
  Setting needle
  Labelling card
  Comprehensive guide to starting an insect collection
  Large Australian butterfly & beetle/bug specimen
  Teachers receive an informative publication on collecting and preserving insects

Secondary School Workshops (Insects in Ecosystems, Insect Classification, Biological Warfare, Invertebrates as Research Tools or any of the Primary School topics)
Cost: $8.80 per student* (minimum booking of 20 students)
Classroom insect displays, insect host plants and live insect material included.  Contact us for more information on specific workshop inclusions.

Insect Pinning & Mounting & Classification Workshop
(Primary or Secondary Students)

Cost: $15.40 per student (minimum booking of 10 students)
This workshop combines all of the features of the 2 workshops for a discounted price.
